You can take your pick of over a dozen proposed sites in England, Wales and even Scotland.
But forget the notion of a Disney castle...it would have been a refortified/ reused Iron age Hillfort.
My favourite candidate for this being Cadbury Castle in Somerset.......which was originally trashed by Vespasian in AD 49ish and refortified in 6th century as the headquarters of a warlord.....excavated in 1966 and some circumstantial evidence of Arthurian occupation found.
Impressive place to walk around even if there weren't any pointy roofed turrets.
