I dont know about other peoples bikes but if I check the sight glass with the bike on a centre stand with the rear wheel about an inch of the ground the reading is very different to one taken with the wheel on the ground. If you like hooting through the twisties don't put on a centre stand because you could kill yourself... 
Yes I have no problem with the sight glass either.I don't have a centre stand but I could use a roller thingy to make cleaning and lubing the rear wheel easier.
