Check these Emgo cheapie eBay specials out. Simple 16-inch tapered slip-on stubbies. Non removable directional baffle. These things fit the lines of the original exhaust headers like a glove. They almost look factory. Less than 40 bucks apiece. Buy 'em all day long on eBay. Just do a search for Emgo mufflers. The cool stamped raised ribs around the body of the mufflers matches my chrome finned sprocket cover theme too. How cool is that? And, for the best part.... The sound. These babies have a real meaty burbley idle with just the right amount of popping interspersed for a delightful melody of British twin music. Way, way better idle sound and volume than any set of TOR's you can come up with. And the best part? When you juice it a bit it sounds like a cross between a hot rodded small block Chevy with Borla exhausts and a vintage British TT racing bike. And the downshifting burble and occasional pop is simply to die for. Meaty as hell. Too cool for school. No raspy barky sound or tinny hollow tube sound out of these bad boys. Just thick and meaty music. And when you really hammer it the H-D boys will be in envy over your bold brash British iron I'm here ta tell ya. The over all volume is perfect for getting noticed by anyone on the road and sure to make the bystanders reel around in surprise, but it's by no means the loudest thing you've ever heard. Sure to please the most jaded name-brand aftermarket pipe user. So, go ahead and save yourself several hundred pesos, and get the sound and volume you're after to boot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss350/vman1960/Emgo2.jpg

I don't see any hangers on them ? I know I've seen damage done to exhaust ports seals due to weight and vibration on the older bikes and these new bikes with much bigger pipes makes me think hangers would be required ? I know I've seen old Triumphs with just pipes but when you put mufflers on then you've added weight ? Just food for thought and aftermarket generic hangers are cheap ? :
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Agree, even those shorties need support. Tearing the header pipe flange bolts out of the head would ruin a riding season.

Looks very nice. Your description of the sound was inspiring. Where did you get the pedestrian slicer? Looks great and I hear it sounds good too.

Hey there, very sorry about the months late reply, but I can't seem to make the right selections to get email notices of posts to me from this site. Anyway, the "slicer" was home-made by yours truly. Couldn't seem to find one I was happy with on the web or eBay. Got me some aluminum sheet from Ace Hardware and cut out the shape and did the finishing work on the edges. Then took it to a local powder coater for the black, and finally, I had a local sign company do the Triumph logo in adhesive white vinyl with gold outline. I also did some very fine 16th-inch gold pin stripe around the edge that you might not be able to see from the picture. It is held to the fender with 90 degree black plastic brackets and 3M double sided automotive emblem tape. I crazy-glued on some small gold acorn nuts to the brackets to simulate mounting bolts. All in all it turned out pretty cool.
