By all means, pack up and GO WEST OLD MAN. In the mid 70's, I was on unemployment in Calif., told the office I was going to travel looking for work. Loaded the bike in the van and went to visit my parents in Jersey, friends in Georgia, brother in Fla, cousin in Texas, etc. I stopped at local unemployment offices along the way, filled out forms from the companies I found in the local phone books. When I got back to Cal six or eight weeks later, they had all my back checks waiting for me. Try it, you will like it. TR
