2017 HD Street Rod I like this one. I plan to test it and a 2017 Triumph Sport Cup. Good time to be a buyer.

Look at the quality( or lack thereof) of the fittings.....eg forks, suspension and the general feel of it. I was very disappointed to see it in the metal.
I took the Road Less Travelled.
Now where the ****** am I?

Yes, build quality of the Street was an issue. The US Street Rod bikes are assembled here, so I expect much better.

The Street 500/750 were entry level bikes, some of the switch gear and the horn looked cheap, but the build quality and paint look just fine here in the USA. The Street Rod version is quite an upgrade and I can't wait to see it in person, my dealer told me it will be a month before they get one. The Street Rod looks kind of small, I do believe the Triumph Street Cup is a better fit for most of us older riders but time will tell. It is a good time to be a Motorcyclist.

For sure! There is an incredible diversity of good quality bikes to choose from the last few years. Even HD make a pretty good bike now. And figuring in inflation, I think prices on new stuff is fairly low. If I was a thirty something, I'd have a pretty hard time choosing a bike from all the good stuff out there!

HD is cheap period. having had the former "girls bike" a sportster i can attest to its poor brakes + suspension, not to mention its top heavy feel + fork flop tendencies. i have yet to see either street model on the street!!! HD "big twin" cool aiders shun the sportster so the street will get no love for sure!!

Hmm, a 750? So the 45 inch WL is back again?

I test rode a 750 and found it to be a nice but small bike. IMHO the Triumph's are a better fit for about the same cost. The Victory Octane was a better buy, but the Scout is a bit pricey. Nice to have choices, we are in the "Golden Age".

If that's your opinion of a Sportster then why did you buy the bike? Did you see the bike before you bought it? Did you test ride the bike before you bought it?
I've owned both a Dyna and a Sportster for years and can say the Sportster is a great all around street motorcycle except of course for riders who think they're Joey Dunlop (without his skills). The air cooled Sportster is also a very easy simple bike to maintain my wife's 2012 Sportster has been absolutely reliable.
