I'd forgotten about the magnetic sump plug.Lots of improvements like that splitting the crankcase horizontally [no oil leaks] no primary chain [cogs instead].My TX[the third XS with the Brit style tank]used to pull the nipples off cables at the clutch lever.I started carrying a nipple that would screw onto the cable end for emergencies couldn't figure it out but apart from that, the starter crapping out and a couple of blown headlight bulbs I had no problems."Memories, like the corners.......etc. etc. etc."
At 35,000 kms I had a service on my Triumph, the mechanic said, there was no discernible wear.
So thank the Gods, things have improved!
