( WD ...' War Dept.'....been around since the D Day landings...messy but usually effective for this sort of thing. I used to simply cover up the brakes each September and spray the whole bike with this awful gunk....rinse it off for March.
I've been using WD40 for years and never knew it stood for War Dept.You learn something everyday.
Old sump oil works we; too.I remember my Dad painted used sump oil over my bike when the 1974 Brisbane floods happened in Australia.The bike was rust free at the end of them
Story about WD-40 I heard was: Stood for: Water Displacement 40th formula.
