I bought one of the first t-birds and I have been very happy with it, it is a great touring bike. It gets plenty of compliments, but I suspect that is because you just don't see many of them.
I remember awaiting the arrival of the TBird with great anticipation but was not wowed by the looks or ergonomics. By all accounts they perform great. My Indian dealer had taken one in on trade and it sat on his floor for a very long time with about 800 miles and at a very attractive price. Very unfortunate.
