Took a close look at the new T100 in a dealers today. Though I have some doubts about the 55bhp motor. It struck me as a very pretty thing...... The blue/ white one reminded me of my old '66 TR6....the single carb bonnie which I liked very much whilst the red/white had echoes of my 1977 red/ white T140V . So......I tried to visualise some mild factory customisation. Both need the old fashioned Triumph export bars on them...and some period silencers....then they'd have a distinct appeal for me. But....the luggage options simply spoil them both ..ugly...ugly ugly..... So....plan B if no 1200 TBA appears. I keep the TBA LT...for two up and touring and sell the switchback and buy a T100, some old bars and see what can be done with the thing. Other suggestions?( Polite, please.) Will test ride the T100 later this month and see how I feel about the engine.

I like the look of the blue and white best too it's my favourite colour scheme. The T120 also looks good to me.Unfortunately with out some major adjustment to my knees, riding either wont happen. Another possibility, keep the LT, get another BA/Speedy and do the big bore, carbs, etc. just a thought.

My problem as well, with alot of the hardware out there it looks great to ride but anything over 90degree angle at the knee and it hurts after a short time in the saddle.I wish Triumph would do demo days so we could at least test ride them for 15 minutes thats how I know I wont buy the BMW F700GS that so appealed to me in the show room.

we get demo days twice a year at Team triumph in Janesville, WI. its nice, you can ride whatever you like and compare right then. there have been both bikes from their stable and the factory truck.

Ok, I'll ask the stupid question (I'm good at those) ... do you need a specific demo day to test ride them? Doesn't your nearest dealer have them in and you just go and test ride them side by side or do they have limited stock?

That seems to be how it works here at any rate.... I'll be trying one out in a couple of weeks. At 6 ft 3 ins I too worry about the 90 degree bend.

I had to buy a footpeg relocation kit to move the pegs back 4"as the position on my '07 was placing my knee in just the wrong position now. When I bought the bike it was ok, but my knees have deteriorated. As for mid-mount pegs[which I like] forget it. I feel like "goldielocks" ,The pegs on the later Americas/Speedys are 2" back from the earlier models which would probably be "just right" for me but the 4" back will do.

I think that there may be hope yet for a 1200 cruiser. The rumor that I keep seeing is the Tbird line is being phased out as well. As of now there are no listings for 2017 cruisers other than the Rocket 3. I think that we may see some type of 1200 cruiser as a consolidation of the two low selling lines. I can't see Triumph completely giving up on cruisers, however I would think that building one based on a frame and engine they already produce would streamline production and make them a little more easier and profitable to produce.

We live in hope Jake.
But please Triumph, if you make one, keep to the styling of the BA/Speedy.

Yes, attempting to compete with the styling of for example Victory, would be throwing out the baby with the bathwater

With regards to Demo Days, they are usually the only time here that you get to ride a new bike from the showroom. It's not like a car dealer. Triumph does have demo days here though.
