...Hope your joking with this post, Harley sold more Sportsters this year than Triumph sold bikes. I own both Triumph and Harley, they are both Bullet Proof,as most new bikes are from any manufacturer.

Yep an acquaintance had a 1973 XLH Lemon, and friend had a 1974 XLCH.Also a lemon.I had the 1974 XLH lemon.
Another friend got a 1984?maybe 1986?[not sure] Sportster and things were improving by then.

Ah come on guys, The Ironhead Sporty's were fast for their era but troublesome, but, so were the Triumphs. Harley stayed in business and brought out the Evo engine Sporty in the mid eighty's. They have been churning out Evo Sporty's now for 40 years, is it not time to give it up already? My America is a sweet bike and I ride it to relax, when I want excitement I fire up my old 1200 Evo Sporty. Both are great bikes for their purpose.
