First off Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.
After 23 years of not having a bike I purchased a wonderful 2005 America to get back into riding in September of 2014. Shortly after that I found this site.
Over the winter of 2014/15 I absorbed every column of this site. The knowledge on this site is amazing and you are all awesome.
The strangest thing was that some of the people I came to appreciate are no longer with us. They were gone before I joined the site, but I got to know them and their passion for riding and the America here. To those that knew them you should know that this site is their memorial and testimony. It preserves their memory and honors them.
In the spring and early summer of 2015 I made a number of upgrades and improvements to my America. Some out of necessity and some because I wanted to. A 10 year old bike in almost mint condition is a great find. The 10 year old tires on the other hand had to go.
Everything I did was a direct result of the information found and given on this site. I also found my greatest resource for parts was our own Mr. Fast Eddy. EDDY ROCKS He is great to work with.
In September I went to the Kentucky Rally and put faces to a few of the names on this site and cannot wait to meet up again next year.
I like to write and if you are new here you can read most of my exploits under members rides 2005 TBA.
I am grateful to have gotten to share with all on this forum or in person and pray God blesses you and the ones you love in the coming year. May your rides be full of miles and smiles.
I did not realize how much I had given up 24 years ago and am grateful to my wife for telling me to get another motorcycle. Stumbling across a 2005 Triumph America on Craigslist, that then led me here is something I will be forever thankful for.
Yes Virginia there really is a Santa Claus.
