That and the earthquake in N W Canada along with others that involve the Pacific plate. I cannot live in and even get antsy visiting Vancouver. If the big shake that is predicted occurs sometime and if it reaches the level other areas around the ring of fire have experienced in the past decade then surf is up and Van is under water for a short period at least long enough to destroy the city.
I have been in Guatemala when the earth is moving under ones feet and that does not freak me out as much as the potential damage from a 8 to 9er off the BC coast. We had friends over for dinner tonight who were in a caravan just outside Christchurch a few years ago when the big one hit, they were in the countryside at a camp ground and felt huge shaking but could not believe the damage in the city when they ventured there a few days after the after shocks subsided.
