Why hasn't somebody marketed something on this order? Safety issue, no one see a market, what? I saw some low profile over the ears Marshall brand BlueTooth H.Phones at CostCo today and it got me thinking, razor knife, some adhesive....Sometimes, I'd rather not listen to the wind and motor, just some Music that I'm in the mood for.

Some of my friend's asked why I didn't go for an intercom system so's I could communicate with my Beloved on the road. I told them they'd missed the whole point of being on a motorcycle......the aim is to utterly avoid communicating or communing with anyone/thing/ being...... This is why men have sheds/ workshops/ garages.
I took the Road Less Travelled.
Now where the ****** am I?

So true. I pulled up beside a Harley bagger the other day with speakers in the console and speakers in the saddlebags booming. Also those big chrome wheels. Loud pipes. Stereo made me sick. If my wife wants something she normally hits me in the back of the head.

I do not need to hear the motor to know how it's running and I can feel the wind pushing me, also I do not want to talk to anybody, I'm looking to hear fairly pure, unadulterated music in my ears. I have tried 5 or 6 different brand earbuds and with different size rubber fitment plugs. That gets me about 50% there. Anybody know the path to my enlightenment off the shelf, if not, I'll Frankenstein something together.

In Ear monitors are your solution because they're built around molds of your ear canal. Any generic ear bud uses variable rubber/silicon inserts to seal your ears and they just don't compare to custom units. IEMs come at a steep price point so it'll put a real premium on how much your music means to you. Westone, Ulitmate Ears, JH Audio are units I know. Etymotic makes an affordable unit but it isn't as comfortable. Baseline is $130 and the top line can get above $1700. You get to choose.

Thank you Ed, I will research the options you have graciously provided. Leave it to a sound man, to know his stuff.

Ryk, I've been using Sennheiser IE4s on the lawn tractor and they work pretty well for a unit that just uses a generic rubber fitment and the fidelity is very good. It really depends on how good you can seal that ear canal and these work for me in that environment. Gotta crank them up using the wood chipper and that might be uncomfortable for anyone with acute hearing...

My mate rides with ear-plug music playing.I prefer not to.I have thought about it. Another friend was going to get an intercom system .I said do you really want to hear about the wildlife program your wife saw on TV yesterday while you're trying to avoid the semi-trailer that's pushing you towards a ditch. He saw my point in a hurry.

Yep... agree 100%. This communication thing is overrated. My Beloved is perfectly able to thump me on the back when she needs us to stop. And who wants to hear me grunt and curse anyhow? Al
