Unless they provide us all with 1200 engines of course.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Has anyone taken a real close look at the pictures of that thing? Take your finger and block out the bike from the seat back. Does it remind you of another bike? I'll give you a hint. It begins w A and ends in merica.

Well, seeing as the site is called "BonnevilleAmerica.com' and we have been gracious enough to give those poor buggers on Speedmasters a home, why not take in the Bobber Brigade?

Looks so good doesn't it? I have waited in vain for a 1200 TBA....however, now I've just bought a TBA LT and I have a Harley up for sale. This bobber might just be the Harley's replacement......my wife likes TBA's and so passenger accommodation is no longer an issue for me. I shall get me down for a test ride, methinks

Yes a shame there's no 1,200TBA.I'll be keeping my '07. The bobber's sort of interesting. The 1.200 power and maybe.....but not right now.

Buy the Bobber and make a cruiser out of it, how hard can it be? I bet I have enough Spdy/America spares scattered about my little world to pull it off. It starts with vision and motivation and ends when you're finished. I would love to have one of our cruisers with a soft tail rear. To put it in a 1968 vintage redneck vernacular, "It Would Look Really Boss".

I was thinking the same thing. It wouldn't take much for that bike to be a standard cruiser. A few brackets, a wider fender and a passenger seat. But I think you guys have given up too soon. I predict there will be another America and Speedmaster with the new engine. Maybe late summer or fall of 2017 as a 2018 model? Cruisers are still a pretty important and lucrative part of the market. I can't see Triumph discontinuing their midsize cruiser line.

Yea, what he said, try a little patience. Although, Triumph might go with the new smaller 900cc motor, it's still a step in the right direction.

I hope you're right Paul.We can but hope.I'd need to try the bobbers seat further back to get the kink out of my knees if I could. All will be revealed in the fullness of time as they say,but that 1,200 power is singing a sirens song to me "Come and get me,Come and get me."

I could see them using the 1200 for the SM and the 900 for the BA since they already have the 2 different size engines in production.

Possibly. 900 America to compete w Harley Sportster 883 and SM 1200 to compete w Sportster 1200? There's some logic there. And if they make them softails, that will get the Harley execs. attention.

It seems that the Bobber is in line with the cruiser family so it does not make sense for Triumph not to produce the America and/or Speedmaster in some configuration. The Bobber will have it's audience, but it will be limited and they need a two up option I would think. That is what would make sense, so who knows.

The first thing I would do, is scratch that Dorky "Bobber" decal off the side of my new bike. The bike should essentially represent a version of a modern Bobber, but not have to spell it out for the unwashed masses..

True dat. If the people that bike appeals to need a decal to tell them what it is then there is something wrong.

I once owned a Chevy shortbox pickup with a 350 5 speed stick, the 1st thing I did when I got it home was remove the "Sport"sticker from the side of the bed, same deal as the Bobber, just pathetic.

I have a problem with calling it a bobber at all because it isn't, it's a factory built motorcycle. Nothing has been bobbed.

I agree Bobber does not fit a production bike. I think we should call it a "Bobby"

Well I think Triumph is the first to admit its a "factory" built custom. But I've seen some bobbers that have the "grunge" look to them that the builders create intentionally You can't do that at the factory. Also I finally figured out what it's missing. White sidewall tires!

I have a problem with calling it a bobber at all because it isn't, it's a factory built motorcycle. Nothing has been bobbed.
Well I think Triumph is the first to admit its a "factory" built custom. But I've seen some bobbers that have the "grunge" look to them that the builders create intentionally You can't do that at the factory. Also I finally figured out what it's missing. White sidewall tires!
If it is one of many of the same from a factory it is also not a custom. To be custom it needs to be a one of built to suit an individual.

So you're saying there is no such thing as a factory custom? What about the Screaming Eagle series Harley has? From what I understand you can choose whatever you want on them. Paint, wheels, engine mods.

I didn't say there is no such thing as a factory custom. If a bike is built specifically for an individual no matter where it is built then it would be custom.

This is it, the Speedmaster is gone, the America too. They aren't needed with a bike this nicely done.

Your forgetting something. What if I want take a friend for a ride? What if I want go on a trip further than the local bar? Do I have to buy a second bike? There''s no Triumph accessories available for this bike that will help me w those problems.
