I switched to an aftermarket front sprocket for a while. It was all metal, didn't have the rubber pad and I didn't notice any more vibration than stock. Maybe just me.
My aftermarket did not have the rubber and have noticed no issues. I go between country and two lane roads to interstate. I find 5th gear of little use when cruising between 50 and 60 MPH. I will shift to it if I am on a long flat stretch. Seems when I am on the interstate everyone is doing 80-85 MPH and 5th gear at that cruising speed is such a pleasure. I am at about 4000 RPM at 75 MPH. Off the line it is fine. I have a tach, but mostly shift by ear. When you are shifting through the power range of the bike you just have one less gear to mess with, so I see no loss of performance at all. If you do mostly city riding or back roads then I would not change. If you do any interstate or long flat stretches the 19T is a pleasure. In theory it should raise the top speed of the bike another 10 to 15 mph, but that is not something I feel a need to test. I did go from around 140 to 160 to reserve. Not sure if that is the gear or how i have been riding lately. My daughter and wife ride with me most of the time and 2 up is no issue. Just a little more gas off the line.
