Been searching the site for an answer as I'm sure it's been asked a hundred times. I want to lower my 2015 Speedmaster. What's the shortest shock I can use without the rear tyre hitting the fender at full compression. I asked Hagon about running 11 1/2 inch. They say that would hit on the mudguard. They have offered to make a pair of 11 1/2 with only 50mm travel but say it might ride a bit crappy.
Any tried and tested answer with a pic so I can get an idea of what mine will look like, much appreciated.

You can go with 10 1/2" shocks, but if you weigh more than 185 lbs, you would have to wind up the shock s preload so tight, you may as well have struts. I have a set of 10 1/2" Black progressives, I'll sell you at a reasonable price. But again, how much rider and load do you anticipate? I weigh 235-40 and 12" inchers, borderline work for me as to necessary preload for general riding. There are a few lower profile tires available that will get you down there a little, too.

I used 11" Hagon shocks on Wendys BA and had to put a smaller tire on the back so it wouldn't rub. Kept it wide and you really couldn't tell it was any smaller. I had to trim the front of her chain guard too so it wouldn't hit the frame.

I put 300mm Hagon 2810's on mine this summer and they are working fine. I weigh 210 and my wife and daughter are around 130. I have bottomed them out a couple times with a passenger, but that was extreme and stupid stuff. I am going to diet soon so that will help.

Wendy's bike was fine when I lowered it too until I put a new tire on it then it rubbed.

if you ride hard and are a little fluffy don't do it. it will scrape like crazy.
