I have ridden those old inline 4 bikes and not much TQ there either for the size. I have a good friend who rides an Indian 4. Many of my friends ride old bikes, one rides a 20s HD with exposed rockers, another a 36 Knuckle, another a 50 pan EL, another has 2 Indians a Scout and a Chief both completely stock and original paint (the Scout is original rust can't see much paint anymore) another a 58 Triumph 500 with a 750 top end and crank and rods, another a 72 Bonnie that Paul Sr. owns now etc... Some great bikes.
