Ok, I know most folks think this type of thing is mostly snake oil. But.... I used one a couple years ago in a weed whacker-powered R/C boat that was running pretty crappy and would stall on occasion. I stuck one in and man, it was like night and day. No more stalling or hesitation, and it ran like a scalded cat. So then I put in some year-old mixed gas that was obviously stale, and it still ran like a top! Also, my older brother has an '02 Bullet-edition Mustang and he stuck a set in it and he said they made a noticeable difference in power and mileage. And he never usually buys into that type of stuff. So, any of you out there try these in your Americas or Speedys? If so, what kind of results did you experience? Any opinions welcome. I know all about the iridium and platinum options, but I'm not interested in talking about those, just experience or opinions on the E3s.
Thanks!
Mike

The shipping costs more than the price of a single plug!

There are differences in sparkplugs to be sure. So many options have been discussed here. Trimming the electrode, clocking them, etc... No need to spend a mint, a good quality standard plug is all you need at the performance level of our machines.

Hiya Ryk!
Long time no chat bud. Yeah, I bought them local from Advance Auto Parts outlet. Total was just over 12 bucks for the pair. Figured I'd give 'em a shot. I'll let ya know how they work out once I throw 'em in the bike in the next day or two.
Take care,
Mike

True dat. But I figure for 12 bucks it's worth a shot.

$12? That's what we pay now for Platinum or Iridium. $7 shipping 2 plugs from the main dealer is what I was whining about.

Hate to say it but I am still running the plugs my 05 came with. I'll change them when they need to be changed.I have not had to gap them or clean them yet.

Ya, they were $6.09 apiece plus tax. Then, I go to put 'em in tonight and find out I don't have the fancy-ass 18mm 3/8ths drive plug socket to remove my old ones! Wonderful. Looks like a trip to Sears tomorrow after work for my five dollar and eight cent plug socket. Funny, because I still have to use the standard 5/8ths plug socket for the E3s. How stupid is that....
Take care,
Mike

Got my originals still in mine too. But it's one of those finicky EFI models. And, it's only got 5800 miles on it. : )

Bad or worn plugs can waste power in these motors; however, as a general rule in these motors premium plugs won't get you any extra power beyond what OEM plugs can deliver. If they could, I would have found it.

I bought a pair, at $6.00, that's real close to the same price as all the other wonder plugs they sell us. Will the bike go faster? Only if I twist the throttle harder, so probably not.

IMO the only way a plug is going to make more power in a near-stock motor is by having multiple ground strap electrodes that fill more of the combustion chamber & thereby incrementally increase the compression. It won't be from the "spark".

As long as they ignite the fuel/air mix dependably, they're good enough.
