Cool Donny,
Maybe you can order the triple burger at Oark. Since it would be a first you could get them to name it the Donny Burger!

From Huntsville (breakfast) to Clarksville is 120 miles. Only a couple of places to take on gasoline, (if the little country stores are open and have gas). Since most can come close to making 120 miles we could just top off at one of the stores in Deer area. The after lunch leg is 110 miles from Oark to Berryville. We could fuel up in Berryville or back down the road in Marble.

ps: Oark is two syllables OH and ARK. We have funny ways of pronouncing things down here.

So, I am scouting for the rally today. I ate lunch at Granny's and when I had finished and gone out to get on the bike a couple pulls up and parks next to me in a new yellow mustang. Guy gets out, walks over to the bike, looks at it and says,"Venom yellow in this part of the world, Mr. Hensley, I presume" I didn't know whether to run or try to get away on the bike, but stood my ground and said "Yes, and who are you?". Turns out he is on the Tiger 800 forum and lives up the road in Noel, MO. (Paul's favorite small Missouri town). I knew his username and knew he was from MO. But didn't think he was from that close by. Small world when you ride a Triumph.

57 degrees this morning over here in the hills. Oh yes, I am going riding and may not even call it scouting for the rally.

Same weather this morning. Off again. Had Oark burger for lunch and pie at Granny's for dessert yesterday. Haven't decided where to go today but need to quit riding to places where I love the food. Getting fluffier every day. Have pretty much explored the whole AR Rally route for this year and all is well. Some road construction on 23 and some pavement cracking, etc. on 23 and MO 90 but still very rideable. Come on down or up or whatever it takes to get here!

Just trying to get some miles in. My wife had her second knee replacement in the last year at the end of June. So I have been confined to quarters for a bit. She is up and around and I out and about. Did eat lunch at the Low Gap Cafe. We need to work that into a run one of these days. The guy is a C.I.A. trained chef working at an old store building in Low Gap (the only building in Low Gap, halfway between Ponca and Jasper on 74). Great food but a little higher end than our usual fare. Do have burgers and stuff. I had a shrimp basket today with huge tempura battered shrimp. Wife is now mad at me for going there without taking her. I told her it was all in the line of duty for rally exploration.

ps. I did find a potential place for lunch in Branson. I used to eat there several years ago when I worked in that area. BBQ, burgers, etc. I have a menu in my tank bag y'all can check out to decide before we go.

Now don't go getting into trouble with your wife. She might find a way to keep you from going to the rally. LOL I'd like to go to that place in Low Gap someday.

We need to do a spring/early summer ride and do the touristy stuff. Restaurants, museums, waterfalls, natural bridges, etc. within fairly easy riding distances. Would take a couple of days probably.

If I knew that, I would have asked you to come with Stephen and I this past June. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park and Steamboat Springs for a couple of days. You would have loved it. Stephen said I was going too slow on I-70 west because people were passing us at 80 mph so I took if up a notch 85-90. Made 760 miles in around 12 hours with an hour stop for lunch. If you friend him on face book, you can see some good pics.

Well I did smoke Stephen on a flat long stretch between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs and made it past the century Mark. What's the top speed of that old adventure bike of yours, 70?

Going to have to drop out for this weekend. I pulled a hamstring in
My right leg trying to keep a bike from falling over on my Fl. Trip. I called Riders Rest to cancel my room so there will be an extra room available for someone. Have fun..

Sorry Paul. Hope you have a speedy recovery. You'll miss some good riding, BBQ, and burgers and a bit of BS, but there is always next year.

Dude, that sucks! We'll miss you this year but yeah, like Troy said, there's always next year. You had a good long trip to Florida though so it's not a total wash

Joe had asked me about the Peel Ferry after the guy on the Blue CB1100 at Deer was talking about it. My reply to Joe was that it was almost as good as the guy claimed.
