It happens, but not with near the frequency of motorcycle casualties. Not that it a great factor in my decision making process. People die by slipping in the tub, I still take showers. I guess my point in the statement was, your not as likely to be involved in an incident with another vehicle. Not too likely to be run over, pulled out in front of, or changed lanes on.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.
