I thought that was so the people who work second shift could take time off to protest.

As for "big business" deliberatly hiring illegals to gain an advantage, I was talking to a friend the other day about the "big" corporation where he works. Seems that his company had been awarded a contract for some sensitive work that required an extensive background check on the people working locally. It turned out that, when they ran the SSI number for one of the guys, he had been dead for 10 years. They asked to see his card because there was "a discrepancy in their records" and it was such a perfect forgery that it was identical with a real card. So, they "corrected their records" and called the INS. The guy was arrested at work, taken directly to the INS van and driven to the border. His car is still sitting in the parking lot.

Let's hope there's intelligent life somewhere in space 'cause it's buggar all down here. -- Monte Python
