We fill out an I-9 for every employee. An employeer is supposed to determine the identification documents are authenthic, to the best of their knowledge. This is where it gets tricky, forgeries are pretty darn good these days. We call and verify every Social Security number, that typically weeds out the illegals. We can't tell them the number is bad, only "there is something wrong with their information in the SS administration". They have 10 days to correct the "error" or we terminate.
