Some 9 years or so ago, I bought a truck with a satellite radio. I liked some of the programming, so I signed up for a lifetime subscription. So, maybe a month ago, one of the batteries went bad and I replaced it. Shortly after, the radio started doing strange things. I thought all the battery charging and such may have done bad things to it.
I had to disconnect the power the other day to fix something and the radio settled to a state that made me think it just needed a reset. It's working now, but when I called they beat around the bush and spouted BS. After 2 calls, it turned out my lifetime subscription had expired. So, what does that mean? I've been going to work and repairing stuff around the house and eating and sleeping. I still have the same truck, What could have happened to make a lifetime subscription expire? I've been sniffing to see if I smell dead, and I don't seem to.

Have you noticed Rod Serling lurking in the shadows lately?

I think it means that your satellite radio company thanks you very much for your contribution.
Now go away.

I would invite one of their Reps explain the definition of "Lifetime Subscription" in small claims court. I'm six for six there and if it's available where you live, you may find it a valuable tool to straighten out bent situations.

I enjoyed the eye rolling and disgusted looks of the steel siding guys when I called them out to replace the life time guaranteed siding I bought in 1982. As I told them when they tried to weasel out of it, "That's my name on the paperwork and I'm still alive."

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
