 Carburator jet removal

I'm working on a 1998 Honda Nighthawk to keep me calm in retirement. The person I bought it from had tried to do something with the carbs and destroyed the head of a slow jet. It's a mess. I've tried spraying it with PB Blaster and letting it sit overnight but still can't get it out. I thought about trying to use a screw extractor but not sure if it will work. Any suggestions?

Depending upon how far gone the head slot is, an extractor may be your best option. Do you have a pic of it?

No, I don't have a picture but will try to get a good close up of it. The slot in the head is completely gone.

An easy out or as you call it a screw extractor. At least you don't have to drill the hole as it's already provided.

I assume the carb is off the bike, If it is off just drill the jet big enough for an easy out and your golden. Be sure not to drill to big and screw up the threads in the carb or it's scrap.

If you have access you might try drilling it with a left handed drill bit when you drill it. It may just come out that way. Might put the carb in the oven before you work on it and wear gloves to handle it, put the oven on 200ยบ or so to expand things.
