Today's upgrade/fix: One of the know "issues" with this bike is the broken speedo cable mount. Naturally, when I bought the bike,it was already broken. The after market fix can run $60 + shipping. Off to the hardware store to see what I could find. Ended up using a nylon p clip,a couple of rubber washers and some stainless steel hardware. Also installed some LED "running" lights. I used a little rotary switch in a empty spot on the gas tank bezel for the on/off switch. They operate on a little battery pack, may hardwire them someday, depends how long the battery pack lasts. Battery pack wouldn't fit under the gas tank bezel,so I used some Velcro to hold it to the frame. I figure a couple more lights may help people to see me better. That, and the high visibility vest I got today.

Speedo cable fix.

I've got a 2007 america which has 85000k on the clock, my speedo cable mount does'nt look like letting go any time soon. I do like what you have done with the LEDs..

I like the polished stainless steel clevice and eye bolt from a boating supply fix.

A polished Stainless Eyebolt with the threaded shank shortened to fit looks good too. A rubber bulkhead grommet in the fender hole eliminates the need for rubber washers and provides a little give in case it's ever needed.

Hard wired the LED's today. The little battery that came with them died.
