I bought one of these as a back-up helmet:

Sistema

The good: it's very comfortable, weighs about 3oz less than a similarly sized Shoei Multitec, looks good, & is easy to operate. My Multitec is a size small; my Sistema is a size medium.

The bad: the visor isn't sealed very well at the top and induces wind noise. I think I might have a fix that will improve that. The sunshade has a bit of distortion.

The verdict: for $200, well worth the cost.

Seeing how statistically, your chin, lips, nose and cheeks are the most likely to scrape on the asphalt when eating chit in a crash, full face helmets are a good idea, all around. I still have my full face with the visor and chin piece all chewed up after getting up close and personal with a pregnant Doe at speed, just for a reminder of that.

The point bein' Wade, she was a fat one. A pregnant Western Blacktail is almost as big as a scrawny U.P. Michigan Whitetail. All I know is the darn Kamakaze critter brought me to a very abrupt loss of forward momentum with commensurate damage to me and my bike.

Good thing your full hat saved your face !
I wear a full sometimes. It just sorta makes you feel safe.

No kidding, I'm not that purty to begin with, and skidding to a stop on my face would make me downright scary looking, I would imagine.

A few weeks ago when I slid on the sand and dumped the bike, the chin guard and visor of my HJC BT modular was pretty scraped up. As much as my ankle and shoulder hurt I think the chin and cheek damage that would have occurred would have been a lot more painful. Certainly more visible.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Anyone using one of these should check the face shield fasteners from time to time - one popped off of the helmet as I was stopped waiting for a gate to open. Easy enough to pick it up and place it back in position, however I'm glad that didn't happen while I was underway.
