If I remember correctly our cables have a plastic inner sleeve requiring no lube. I don't lube mine but no surprise there. Never had any issues either and still running all the original cables. I even have an extra speedo cable because i thought mine broke a few years ago but turned out to be the drive at the wheel.

What about aftermerket cables? I guess I need to read their specs...
That said I have the motion pro luber. Got it this winter to use on my snow blower and mountain bike cables.

Wet is usually better than dry.

I disagree, wet attracts dirt and that will act as an abrasive.

If they have a plastic inner sleeve, then how could I spray cable lube into the clutch end of the cable and have it come out at the engine? Maybe the seals wear out.

They are not sealed they have an inner sleeve that the cble rides against so lube is not needed. All lube would do ius attract dirty to promote wear. Only benefit would be rust protection in wet conditions.
