That's most likely true of all MC corps. HD is like that and auto makers are even worse.
I have an acquaintance, a friend of my brother's, whose family owns the HD dealerships in KC. HD constantly pressures them to expand, they've gone from "old school" to "Wall Mart" size in the last 20 years, their third remodel/build. HD even had approval rights on the overhead lighting used in the shop and showroom.
