Get this!!! I'm screamin down the Merrit Pkwy just east of that tunnel, and as I'm going by a gas station, I see a red bike parked. Wait, it's a TBA... Wait, It's CHARLIE!! I almost dislocated my shoulder when I shot my hand in the air to wave!! Sorry I couldn't stop, I was trying to catch the 12:30 ferry (which I did... barely).

I think it was Mike who asked me about my sissybar rack bag. Here is the website where I bought it from.

Benny, I mentioned this on the original thread. I stopped to gas up on the P-Way, and make a cell call, I hear the roar, look up, and you're blasting by me. I suited up, and tried to catch you, but you had too much of a jump on me.

How'd you like the CD?

Great weekend!

No way you were gonna catch me man I was listening to "bring it on home" as I flew by!! Great CD! Thanks. Remind me for the next ride and I'll hook you up with my blues of Janis Joplin CD.

Mert -
Careful - I saw that picture - gonna get a reputation hanging out with a bunch like that! Just kidding!

I hope to be meeting up with a few BA.com guys next weekend in Prescott.
With this "club" its kinda nice being one of a few women. The HD gang I hang and ride with is almost always at least 50/50 women and men, if not more gals than boys!!!

Have fun, wish NH wasn't so far away!

hey Becky,

do you have a Becky and The Boys complex? My whole world seems to be Mert and The Boys that it's almost weird when there are other women around. I wish there were sometimes; but i guess it's okay with the boys.

Believe me I wish Arizona weren't so far from New Haven either. If I ever get to head out that way it could be Becky, Mert and the Boys--though I'd probably have to rent a HD; that is of course unless I took an extended leave from the job and had time to cruise the nation on 2 wheels.

have a good ride with the Prescott pack. Post a pic or two so I am not alone...

Thanks again, all! It was a blast.

Shari, I have an extra Libby's shirt, if you didn't get one. Walt didn't want his...with a Big Dog and all. Just let me know.

I took a nice, short and easy beach ride yesterday between homework and housework. Enjoying the weather while I can.

Lets plan on a LI run soon. Of course we need to clear schedules. I say sometime in June. We can take the Bpt ferry and come back on the New London. Have lunch out at Orient point or something.

Greenport would be the lunch spot. LOTS of bikers out that way usually too. Not much in orient point other than the boats!!

It seems that way. I had to explain to Bill in San Diego about my email address (he sold me my new tank) - it came about when I had 2 dogs, who were "the boys", and was recently divorced....
Anyway, its kinda fun being one of a select number of girls who ride with the boys. I don't mind it at all.

And anytime you get out this way, make sure to let me know, I'm sure we can find you a bike to rent, or something. Know what you mean about an extended absence from work being necessary to do a really fun bike ride!!!! I'm afraid most of my riding this summer is going to be limited to weekend days and long weekends.
Take care - and keep the shiny side up!
Becky

At the risk of being banned from all future rides, I just couldn't help to notice the striking similarity between Mert's RAT pack and the Ratz and Mice!

I'm glad you all had a great time...I was bitter as hell all day on Saturday since I spent about 14-15 hours driving and none on the bike. I left NYC about 6:00 am, drove 5 hours to central PA, picked up some of my sister's crap, drove about 5 hours down to VA, dropped it off and helped her carry heavy stuff into the new apt & unpack a bit. Left VA at 9:00 pm and drove 4-5 hours back into NYC...phew...what a day.

At least I got the BA out on Sunday and rode her out to Port Jervis and back...a nice 180 mile trip to start out the season. I also stopped by Jack Trebour Triumph in Ledgewood, NJ and checked out the Scrambler on my way West thru NJ.

There's 2 things you can surely count on about me-I will NEVER help you move! And... I will NEVER ask you to help me move! I wll NEVER drive you to the airport, and NEVER ask you to drive me! Anything else is negotiable.

Matt,
that's four things...unless you look at it as two things:two parts each.

a ride out to benny land sounds good. saturday would be better than sunday traffic wise; coming back from New London.

i will have to prep. i don't do boats very well:o. I suppose i'll have to stock up on dramamine or bonine.

The belt and hat came as a matching set, so it looks like I'll be wearing both. I can't WAIT until the next ride!

Shari, the Bport ferry is almost always super smooth!! So if you wanted, we (you and I, or all of us) could ride back to Port Jeff to avoid the Orient ferry which is often rolley polley.

I'm a fisherman. We call that "chumming".

I need help. I've got some good pics from the ride, but I think they're too big. I need someone I can e-mail them to, and re-size for me (I think), and send them back to me so I can post them in my gallery. Benny has done this for me before, but I think he must be preoccupied with the GA run.

I wish I could go. I pushed my luck to get last weekend off.

Any help would be appreciated. I can barely turn this stupid 'puter thing on!

The PJ ferry is wicked smooth, and in the summer you can sit up on deck on the benches. Pretty fun. The Orient one is rocky tho, cause it crosses where the sound meets the atlantic.

Charlie,
I'm getting close to completing my requirements for my private pilot license so I'll be committed to that for a few weekends.I'll have to hook up with you guys when I'm done with that.
SHMARI,
leave it to me to spell abooooard wrong, what a dunce! Some how I knew there would terms and conditions associated with that request.I've noticed recently that I am now labeled a member, PLEASE PLEASE tell me this membership does not in any way involve the Racoon club of New Haven...unless of course there is a coon hat (Daniel Boone style) and a secret hand shake then maybe...no no nevermind really I'm good!

A couple of years ago, my friend and his wife were at the marina, and I said to his wife "what are you so excited about about?". She says "I'm going Skydiving tomorrow". Then, I said "that's pretty dangerous". And she says "You guys go out in the boats...that's dangeous too". Then, I tell her "I know how to swim, I don't know how to fly!".

Let's ride again,

Charlie

Hello to all,

Last weekend I did over 325 miles w/you all, and then by
myself. This weekend I only managed 250(I had to work Sat
till 2). I didn't get on the road until 3:30, or so.

I went N on 123 thru New Canaan, W on 35, N on 121 in
Westchester Co. NY into Putnum Co.NY. Under I-84, and E
on 202 back into CT. Then, N on RT7 thru New Milford.
This part of the ride sucked, both ways, due to construction
and traffic.

A little farther N, it went from bad.... to FANTASTIC!
Wicked twisties running along the Housatonic River. There
was a bunch of people fly-fishing, and kayaking. This went
on for a while.

Then it got COLD! I stopped for gas, and put my fleece on
under my leather, and changed to warmer gloves. That felt
alot better as I headed N.

Then it started to drizzle.

Now I'm FREEZING!!!

I wasn't sure where I was, but as I rolled into what turned
out to be Great Barrington, MA, I saw a Days Inn, and got a
room.

This morning I cut over W into NY, and visited a friend in
Copake Falls, NY. From there S on 22, then E on 44 back to
7 S. I stopped along the way at several cool spots: Kent
Falls, Cornwall Covered Bridge, and others.

Of course I got slowed down everytime I stopped to gas up,
or whatever, by people coming over to ask about the bike.
I love it!

This was a GREAT area to ride, and I'm looking forward to
riding there again!

Charlie
