The problem with the wind is that it often contains bugs, rocks, bird guano, rain and general road dirt and grime. Every now and then the visor takes a pretty good hit that I'm glad was stopped a few inches before it got me.
Well, I have windshields on all of my bikes now so not much of that stuff gets onto me. And, I wear riding glasses. If I bug gets through all that I'm just gonna eat him. Gotta be good for ya!
