Arrived back home in San Diego last night from Columbia in S.C. Had a job interview for a Machinist/Mechanic position at the VC Summer Nuke Plant and it went well, hopefully i'll get hired. The company picked up the whole cost of the 3 day trip, flight, hotel and car rental all paid for so it made me feel quite special.
I have 5 friends working there who i'd worked with for over 25 years at the San Onofre nuke plant in So. Cali. Spent a few hours at a real estate office on the last day to get a feel for the area. Still not sold my house yet but may rent it out if i get a job. Two brand new plants are being built there and it will be mid 2019 when the first one comes online. While there i was wondering who's around the area of Columbia/Irmo. Des

S.C. Is a good state. Lots of laid back nice folks. Around the coast it gets miserable in the summer. Well, it's sorta miserable in the winter too, cold and wet. There are two weeks when the weather is great ! Come on over !

I'm ready to leave Calif. after 35 years, and get out of this funny farm. the I-15 freeway has recently been widened in one section for about 10 miles and is now 8 lanes wide and it has two car pool lanes, this is in ONE direction, so it's actually 16 lanes wide.

You can get to a lot of different places quick from South Carolina. Nice roads, pretty country, friendly people. My Uncle lives in Elmo, SC.

South Carolina has lots of roads that don't even have lines on them, you can stop right in the middle of the road and peewee and nobody sees, except for some crows maybe.
Peace, no traffic, no horns, just crows and wind.

Lovely state with that fine trifecta of beaches, rolling hills and mountains all in easy driving/riding distance. Really nice countryside around Prosperity (where my aunt lives) and Little Mountain, too, in that area known as the Midlands. My family has deep roots there and both my wife and I were born there so I might be a little prejudiced...
