I think I need to change my screen name because I've retired from roadie work. I estimate that I've worked around 5000 shows, 28 years with one group and six years with my last singer/"artist" in the country genre (albeit not very C&W). After touring the US and Canada relentlessly for 38 years I'm getting off the road for work, maybe even giving up work entirely and consuming some entitlements. It's been quite a run since that first cross country run with the Amazing Rhythm Aces.
It's been really busy touring since '10 and my riding skills have languished so I've got a skill set to rebuild and some places/people to see. Knee surgery has corrected the problem that made riding my green America so uncomfortable so I've been scanning the used bike sites thinking one might catch my eye. There's a scrambler out in the shop that needs ridden and a BMW R90 with a sidecar I need to finish maintenance on and learn to pilot. Might even take in a rally or two even though I'm not really inclined to join mass bike events that much.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Ed, good to hear from you. I recently sent you an email and it bounced back as undeliverable. Seems you've had quite the run with some very popular artists over the years and are deserving of a break in the action. I suppose I still owe you a drink or two. Give me a shout when you're ready to get back out for some two wheelin !

Congrats Ed! I guess for now you'll just have to drop the "roadie" part of your name Maybe next fall you can finally join us in Arkansas for a small but mighty rally You did a run with Alabama, didn't you? I could swear you sent me a cd of theirs. Anyway, congrats again man!

Man, perfect day yesterday and I got so excited I took the Scram off the battery tender to go for a ride.
Denied. The battery is toast and of unknown age. Ouch.

Congrats on joining the ranks of us retirees, Ed! (...otherwise known as those of us on our "final glide path"!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I think that's right barring any sudden news from my parents who are in significant decline.
