Those of you that have been around Dahlonega, Ga. have probably been by Rider's Hill on US 16 / Ga. 60 . We went there today and the owners Anthony and Susan said that December 20 will be the day they close the doors for good. Bummer. That place was an institution, we go there nearly every weekend and sit in the rockers. Great place to get service and bike stuff too.

Cool place for sure, but I often wondered how they stayed in business.

Because too many folks would just hang out and mooch and buy nothing, or get the UPC numbers off stuff and then buy it on a .com I always made a point to buy stuff from them and NOT the Internet. I've had three service businesses, I know exactly how it is and I can feel the pain.

I was at a Swap meet Saturday, just a ghost of times gone by. The internet is taking the social aspect out of bike building. If we don't support our local shops they will all be gone, shop local before it's to late.

Such a great spot to grab a bite before heading into the hills, their shop always seemed busy...I guess not busy enough. Such a shame.

Is that the place that had Ducatis and Moto Guzzis? Yes I remember a snack bar there and I bought a rear tire there the last time I went to the Ga. rally.
