In re-reading and thinking about this - the North Rim of the Grand Canyon would be cool....maybe not stay in the Park but at Jacobs Lake or something. Maybe either late spring or early fall...when the weather isn't so hot in the deserts. I don't think the North Rim opens until sometime in May, and closes in October ususally. Fall we would have to avoid or put up with the monsoons.....spring the possibility of snow....
Just a thought.
Now all you great thinkers ponder and come up with a plan!!
