The 400cc Ducati Scrambler Sixty2
This little brat is probably a whole lot of fun
However, I would hope it enters the market with an MSRP of like $6500 USD
oh and loose that dreadful rear mudder..

Looks tidy.
As for the rear mudguard, most of that will be license plate and in the UK, our license plates double up as football fields

Low ( under bike) pipe and no skid plate ? When they came out with the big " scrambler" I thought the same thing! That's not a scrambler, that's just a good ole standard! That pipe is going to get destroyed! There is a comparison article in Nov issue of motorcyclists with the Triumph and when you look at them side by side? You decide which is the scrambler. I think that Duc is prob great for around town and dirt rds but scrambler? Not in my mind.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

That's no good, you keep tripping over the numbers.

Made in Thailand I think, but not 100% sure.400cc is the limit without jumping through too many hoops in Japan,or it used to be.

Its only 500 USD cheaper than the 803cc. $7,900.00. It does appear to be going for the lower HP European regs and the 400cc license regulations in Japan all at one time.

I believe Triumph has a small bike on the way also, I think there are spy photos of a 250cc floating around on the web... All the big players are trying to bust into the 3rd world emerging markets, Harley 500,Ducati 400,and maybe Triumph 250 all aimed at crowded Asian/Indian markets. The few they sell in the USA are just a bonus.

Yamaha and Honda are already there in a big way with Bajaj. In India they appear to prefer the 150cc sizes. I always think anybody wanting to go small now is late to the party.

I think Ducati, Harley, and Triumph small bikes are aimed at the emerging middle/upper class consumers in the India/Asia markets, not the 125cc commuter market. In many emerging markets a 400 Ducati,Harley or Triumph would be a dream machine.

We have what are known as LAMs bikes here. Learner Approved Motorcycle. Basically has to be smaller that 660cc and not exceed 150kw/tonne power to weight ratio. Triumph has a 660cc Street Triple that qualifies. That Duke could do well here as it prob falls in the required ratios.
