This is day one, and last night was the first rally related fatality. I have already witnessed some epic dumbassery. I would not be here if not for work. I can't wait to leave this island.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

It's about 2 or 300,000 people/bikers packed into the central island. It's very commercial so its hundred or thousands of nobs, and soa wannabes intermingled with too much drinking as well. So ya mix extremely over populated with a whole lot of inexperience, and top it off with drinking, and you have a dangerous situation , even for the well experienced.

Dangerous. Like Sturgis everybody should see it once. ROT Rally in Austin is bigger and more open between the park and center city. Death via 18 wheeler ROT Rally

I won't ride down there for the rally. I drive.Park and sight see. And skipped it this year because of the weather.
