So since my wife told me to buy the bike I can guarantee you I will not have a solo seat on my bike. I have the narrow passenger seat on my 2005. On ebay they have the newer style saddle shaped passenger seat for $75.00. Is it worth the upgrade or do I just update the whole seat and if so recommendations please.

If it's the separate pillion, yes, it just bolts right on. There were two variations of that one, a stock pad and a slightly wider gel pad version. I got the latter for Lola in '05. I like the look of the separate seats better.

You are correct it is the separate seat. I have no problem with the saddle, but the back half just seems small if you are going to keep the wife happy..

OK if anyone has one for sale let me know. I would rather pay someone here than e-bay

Ordered the Tour Pillion for my wife. I am going to wrap it and put it under the tree for Christmas.

So when the charge hit the bank my wife Emma asked me what I ordered. I told her I ordered a new pillion seat. She told me I needed to focus on Christmas not the bike. I told her I do not sit on the back of the bike and this was one of her presents.

I got that look from her? You know the look you get from your wife that says "really"

I am sure her bottom will thank me next summer.

With pillions come sissy bars with a pad for her back. I am too self centered to let anyone ride with me, girl, go get yer own, you want to ride that bad.

In May of 2011 Emma had a drunk driver pull out in front of her. 4 operations later she only has 15% strength on her right side and will never go back to work. She is always in pain.
Before kids she used to love to ride with me.
She encouraged me to buy the bike.
I will do everything I can to get her back on the bike with me.
Even if it is only short rides she deserves it. Life has been very cruel to her the last 5 years.

Being a selfish old fart is not the only reason I will only ride alone. I refuse to be any part of another's misfortune from a crash. The safest rider in the world with a perfectly maintained machine is still at the mercy of drunks, Deer, inattentive drivers, acts of God and just plain old bad luck. I'll take these chances, but I refuse to contribute in any way to another's well being, personal injury and possibly, even their life. If someone wants to ride with me, get in my Volvo, belt up and I won't even ask for gas money, just don't touch my sound system.

Well got the new tour pillion from Pure Triumph. It looks better on the bike than I thought it would and I am sure when spring comes my wife will appreciate it.

That was the simplest and first of my winter projects. Not much like winter yet December 9th and it is 52 degrees outside now with a high of 57 projected. Too bad the sun and temp will be down when I get home from work today.

Went for a 3 hour ride yesterday. Kate went with me. Seat got a big two cheeks approval.

Shouldn't that be "Seat got a two cheek big approval"? Just trying to keep you out of trouble. Sometimes women read into things that weren't really meant.

My mission was to make my wife comfy on the bike. I have upgraded the pillion and now I have installed the Tourrest backrest. Next will be the hard saddlebags and the windscreen. I hope the saddlebags balance out the backrest. It is big.
As I said earlier she was in an auto accident in 2011 and only has 10 to 15 percent strength in her right arm so I am doing all I can to make her fell secure.

The only other thing we could do is buy an Indian Roadmaster.

Tourrest on Bike and a bonus.

If you get those hard bags like Zmillin has, and paint them to match that will balance out that large backrest. The hard bags may be like an arm rest for the missus.

She's blessed to have a nice man like you.
