A friend was to take delivery of a brand new Jaguar V12 a treat to himself for selling a big show for a huge profit. It was almost empty of oil and did not make it out of the car lot in Toronto. OOOPSY! anything can happen.

And I bet they added the "car prep" fees at the moment of signing the contract. What car prep?

Big companies are selling more and more cars these days, but the number of skilled mechanics hasn't followed the trend, which means most of the big garages employ a bunch of workers that can barely handle a wrench.

Plus, many companies do not teach the new workers, just telling them what to do, because they are scared they will run away to another company, or even start their own, later.

That's why my car was never serviced at the concession, I did the oil changes and regular maintenance, and when I didn't have the tools for a job, I went to a local family garage. Coming up to 150,000 Kms and not a single problem yet.... Knocking on wood.

Same with my Triumph. The big Triumph shop has never seen my bike, and only went to the little family garage I have here. They are amazing, we have a great relationship together and my bike has been running flawlessly.
