I never had a problem with stock plates making a noise is what I should have said, my clutch was slipping bad that is why I changed. I can't really say why I installed the HD springs...just did. I still have the sound on take off under load...no slipping, just that damned noise. I don't know. I've heard rumors that full synthetic oil could be making the noise with kevlar plates. I can't seem to believe that, I did switch from semi-synthetic (spectro) to full (mobile one) after I rebuilt clutch.
