Route 66 still has plenty of stuff to see I believe.
I read recently that the tourist board has suddenly woken up to fact that it's becoming increasingly popular and is potentially a very good earner and they are working to sign post the route better and push it as a tourist destination again.
When you consider the tourist $$$ is massive in the US, frankly I'm amazed it's taken them this long to realise they're missing out !!
