At one point HD even got the US gov. to tack a special import tax on bikes over 700cc's because they were killing their sales.
Most manufacturers then brought their bikes down to 699cc's just to avoid the tariff.



Very good point which was supported by the Reagan administration. On the other hand Thatcher would have nothing to do with a tariff on the market and we all know what the Japanese did to the Brit bikes even in their own homeland. I am curious to see the bike and I know living in the Midwest now that an 1100cc motor could be very welcomed on these straight and long roads. What is the latest rumor if this is just the Bonnie or the line up to include the America and Speedmaster?
