Used to ride a 2009 Bonny, and loved that bike. Found though that the straight up and down position didn't agree with my crappy knees. Been looking at the America/Speedmaster and loved them. My dad has a 2004 Speedster.

Found a used 2014 America on craigslist. Owner bought it in July of 14, and since then only put about 300 miles on it. He admitted it was a midlife crisis purchase, and it didn't work out. But I got an almost brand new America for cheap, so it was a win! He had it bone stock, but they gave him a headlight kit and luggage rack when he bought it (still in the box).

So far I have put about 400 miles on it in a couple of weeks. Busted out the end pipe baffles, and installed the light kit. Just got some saddlebags delivered today, waiting on a tach kit and am looking at windscreens and maybe a new corbin seat. Forgot how much fun accessories were

The only thing better than getting a new bike is getting it cheaper! Hope you enjoy it!

Love my '14....and it's blue LOL

Looking into adding to it soon.....

Do you like the light kit? I admit I can't stand putting the high beams on at all at night...

Thanks everyone! Just put some bags on it today. Finally get to ride it a bit tomorrow. (other than to and from work)

I like the light kit so far, gives the front end a little more weight. Haven't driven it enough at night to notice. Still need to make the pipes louder, grew up around Harleys

I never owned a bike with 3 lights in the front before but now that I do I probably will never be without them ever again! The way they light up the night is awsome but more than that, I have noticed that people seem to see me coming in the daytime like never before! I always have them on , day and night! Best acc I have ever put on a bike bar none!! A friend was telling me that because the spread between them is why. He said the other bikes ( h.d. ) with them closer together are not as noticeable as mine, and that he saw me while in his car one day and they really caught his attention. So like I said, they are always on!

Ordered some Emgo turnouts. 100 bucks shipped, can't be beat. Stocks without the last baffle are still too quiet and I can't get at the second baffle. Hopefully they aren't too loud as I don't think I've pissed off the neighbors yet.

Put the Emgos on today - sounded great but it was a bit obnoxious. Added in some steel wool padding while I wait for the baffle insert to arrive and now they sound excellent. Need a remap from Triumph to cure the backfiring, but very pleased overall.

I haven't re mapped yet but pulling the air injection got rid of almost all the backfire. Brou it to my local shop and they didn't have a tune for it. Let me know what you find out on the tune. I may mod out the air box Then do a custom tune

Yep, tech said there was no off road tune for the 2014, which I thought was odd. He was going to call his triumph guy and see why not.

They suggested I pull the airbox, which looks like it's my next project

let me know how pulling the air box goes. I'm planning on doing a bellmouth and K&N this fall. I may do a coustom tune. I love the sounds of the EMGO's Who ever is next to me on the other hand find them a bit loud. That and some bars.

Decided against the airbox removal for now. Ordered the AI removal kit and a new K&N filter to see if that helps. Been reading a lot on it and airbox remobal doesn't seem to help EFI bikes as much as carbed models, so think I could spend the money on other things (like a new seat). If the AI removal solves the backfiring I will be fine with that!

For the Emgos I felt they were a little too loud, don't want to piss off my neighbors. Used some steel wool to pack into them and that quieted them down but I was concerned about rusting/burning. No issues yet but I ordered some ceramic wool packing and will repack them this weekend. I'm very happy with the sound right now, just want to not have to worry about the steel wool.

Ive had mine on for about ayear and have a little rust on them. Lack of keeping them clean. And im sure the AI removal will cure 90% of the back fire. I still get a good pop if i let off it at speed. But then again I ride it like i stole it.

Yep, backfiring is gone. Got a chance to run with the new flyscreen and while it wasn't perfect, it really helps with the wind on the chest. Now I just need a decent seat!

How do you like that windshield? I am wanting to add one to my bike. I really like the look. Very nice bike.
I know just how you feel.

I like it a lot! It doesn't do much for the wind in your face but I run with an open helmet so I'm ok with that. Takes a lot of the pressure off my chest. I am usually a little beat up after a ~200 mile ride, but with it I feel fine afterwards.

A friend of mine is about to take delivery of a 2014 America, same color as yours. Got a deal on it about the same way, too! Someone bought it but decided it was to small for them so they traded it in after they put 525 miles on it!
She's trading in her Suzuki S-40, that she's put 16,000 miles on, in the last 2 years, chasing me and a bunch of other Goldwing riders all over. She typically stays with us on rides of 400 miles or more.
We're all going to miss her little S-40 and it's 100 mile range.....all us guys are at an age where our range is determined by our bladders, not our gas tanks. Now we'll have to admit we need a rest stop instead of getting on the radio and saying Michelle should be needing gas about now.

Congrats to her! Such a fun ride. I'm actually pretty sad I bought it in August, only had two good months to ride. Got cold pretty early this year. Sigh.

I bought it from a member on line. It is the Triumph solo seat. Part #A9700201. Think it came off a speedmaster.

Steer her towards a Corbin w/backrest, I have tried every seat made and I always end back up with a Corbin under my butt.

I've heard nothing but good things about Corbins - the price tag got me a little though. I may invest next season since Shocks are the only thing I really still want to buy.
