Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. H. L. Mencken

That window ledge on the "Pronounced" cover where the band is sitting is on the West side of Ga. 54 in Jonesboro. I sat there one time back when Jonesboro was a kinda Southern rebel sorta place. It's all Juan, Quintavious and Ho Chi Gyuen now.
I go through there now I be pattin' my model 29 .44

Leonard in his early years.

I don't know if it was just a local thing, but we all over-pronounced teachers' names back then. So when the band used the name, we were all in on the joke. Leonard Skinner was not pleased. He did parlay his name into a realty company and a bar (The Still). He never did like the music though.

No question about hearing the lead in riff, everyone gets up to dance and starts singing no matter what state you are from or in.

I still think it should have had some cow bell....IMHO

My father graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. Class of '48. The Original building survives today as a condominium.
