Hey guys,

I was just wondering if it is possible in some way shape or form, to make a set of long TORs a bit louder. As in some drilling, or removing something or other. My TORs have a cone-shaped taper going from larger to smaller, as you look down the muffler from either end. The center part of the taper is a straight-through tube from the smaller end of one taper to the other. Has anyone tried to drill this tapered area on either end, or maybe take a large hole saw and try and remove one whole taper on the exit end of the pipe? Looking for a bit more noise from the stock TORs if possible. Anmyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Mike

Some TORS (perhaps not all) have a 3/4" (19mm) inlet restricton "washer" tack-welded upstream of the muffler body/downstream of the slip-joint. Mine did.

If yours has that restrictor & you remove it, you should be pleased with the result.

How about taking a pic of the inlet of your pipe...it should be apparent to me (& others) if it is there.

Sometimes they come out easy, sometimes not.

Depends on the style of TOR, some are easier to open up than others.

A holesaw arbor with a 3/8ths dia. 36" length of drill rod welded on, is the ticket for opening up exhaust pipes by removing baffles. BTW, you need the ability to weld the drill rod on straight and centered, or you wasted your time and money.

I use a curved pointed chisel on my air hammer and made an adapter so I can get them all.

Have to be careful not to damage the pipe so you can see it on the outside. Also depending on the type of pi[pe you are gutting you have to be careful not to bugger up the screen that lines the pipe.

People have been doing this since 2002 so yes it can and has been done many times . A member here with the handle Chev something ( find him in vendors section) makes them for you , I understand the deal is , you send him yours and he sends you a set already done ( exchange) and has always been good to do business with . I'm sure there is $$ involved but nothing like what a new set would be .

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

For the cost of the Emgo Shakers why not keep the TORS stock and get the Shakers.

Then you have more options and less frustration.

Just my thought.
