Definitely unusual, I remember my dad telling me he turned the heads around on a bike so the carbs were at the front and the exhausts came out the back. I don't know what make bike it was as he told me this when i was about 10 years old and i'm almost sixty now.

I agree with Ian. Why would anyone ruin a beautiful pair of Triumph 650s..... Shame.

Yep,It is a shame. I'm guilty of butchering a T110.My only defense is the impetuousness and arrogance of youth.

Interesting the way it was done though, the primary side engine is running backwards, I wonder how they made the oil pump work with it running in reverse. They have the crank running a jackshaft putting power to the clutch.Looks like they used a slick shift tranny too, good idea on paper but not so much in practice.

This could (should?) have been Triumph s response to the CB750.

Sorry Ryk, but I disagree and think such a machine wouldn't have changed Triumph's dire straights and ultimate demise in the least...and for the following reason:
An across-the-frame Triumph 4 cylinder such as this using an old tech push rod design and old tech vertically split cases would have still been as weak a response and/or competition to the much more modern OHC and horizontally split cased Honda CB750 as the Trident T150/BSA A75 Rocket-3 triples ever were.
(...nope sorry, but by the LATE-1960s the BSA-Triumph concern had by then sealed their fate by not investing in modernizing their product line by the MID-1960s and by mistakenly thinking the Japanese were not a threat to their continued success in the "big displacement" motorcycle market at that time)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Yep I've seen a couple of pics of Triumphs with the heads/barrels reversed and the air filters facing forwards.

Not my cup of tea, but you have to admire the workmanship and engineering that went into this build. Now guys cut off the fenders put on apes and think they have built a bike.
