Under the tank, along the right side of the frame spine, in close proximity to the blinker relay. A lot easier to deal with if you pull the tank. Seeing that so many have issues (including me) with that relay, I am of the conclusion that it's a manifestation on a electrical design flaw. Don't spend the time waiting for or the big money Triumph charges for that relay. All you need for a replacement is a relay with the right number of spades in the right config. and the number values relatively close. If you pay $8 for a new one, you paid too much.
My first thought is also the relay. I have blown this twice and both times was right after I washed the bike. After the first time I was always careful to not get water under the tank even though I coated the relay in dialectric grease. After the second time I believe that the short or surge or whatever came from the headlight bucket. You know when you see that headlight covered in splattered bugs so you nail it with the high pressure spayer. I took apart the headlight assembly and covered all all the connections in dialectric grease and have not had a problem since.
