Didn't those used to come back in the day with a two speed automatic transmission, or am I thinkin' about another bike?

I nearly bought a run down 71 El Dorado a few years back. Liked the old style styling and simplicity. But the price was too much and I already had too many unfinished toys in the garage.

Yep Ryk, you're correct. The Guzzi model you're thinking of was the V1000 Convert...

(...and btw regarding this new El Dorado...I like!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I like it overall, but I don't like the pipes.Same as the T-birds which is one of the no-nos for me on the T-bird.The new headlight is sort of weird.

Always had a fondness for Guzzis, but until recently there was no dealer near me. (So I bought a CX Honda ). Most of the Guzzitista I've known do their own work. I don't. My loss, 'cause I still like and would want one! Maybe if I ever get to do that cross-country ride that I've always dreamed of.

Like everything but the flared exhaust, probably not many off the shelf options either. I'm sure something could be found to crossfit though.

Like the new one, but the white walls would have to go, IMO.
