I did consider that - until I read the reports that she had threatened others with the same fate. Documented. Not saying that this incident was prompted by splitting/filtering (since the dead mans isn't talking), but pointing out the aggressive attitude of many of those folk piloting these 2 ton hunks of steel. And this in a state that has 20+ years experience accommodating motorcycles in congested traffic.
BTW, put me on a Ducati and other than a Multistrada, I think I'd ergonomically have problems kicking anything.
Like I've said before, I don't have a problem with anybody splitting lanes. I'll even concede the reports that show the reduction in rear end collisions (though why a motorcyclist would stop directly behind a car in traffic eludes me). It's just that what works in Cali doesn't always work everywhere else. Maybe we're just stupider - that is what most Californians think isn't it? (I'd insert the obligatory redneck pickup truck joke here, but I know you have one in the garage.)

Be safe out there.
Edit: Latest witness statement says the Ducati rider was splitting lanes on I-5 and she sideswiped him. He may or may not have kicked out, but either way, he moved on. She followed him for several miles. There is video of the chase online.
