Then right on to the condescending attitude, very predictable. It's Dwights opinion so it must be correct for everyone everywhere.Remember I drive a tow truck and I have some experience on the subject as well, I keep speedy dry and rubber gloves in my truck for the results of lane splitting.
So, ya wanna talk about "condescension" here, eh buddy?!
Well then, what say we do a little recap of this thread and specifically YOUR very first comment posted within it...

"California is the land of stupid ideas, and an abundance of them."
Well now, if THAT isn't one broad-brush, dismissive and yes CONDESCENDING comment made about an entire state and by implication the people therein, AND a comment which I KNOW was not made in any kind of joking manner by you, AND a comment which really ISN'T about the SPECIFIC issue of "Lane-Splitting", then I don't know what the hell IS?!!
You see Ian, what you've never seemed to recognize here is that YOU can often be JUST as "condescending" as I can, but what always stuck in YOUR craw is that I can usually "OUT-condescend" YOU whenever you make these kind of comments.
Yep, THAT'S right! You see, you and I are REALLY much more alike than you have ever seemed to consider. I mean, why the hell do you think we've been knocking heads since almost day-one around here, HUH?! Yep, THAT'S why!
And btw regarding your thought that "your experiences" back there "reconfirm" your opinion about THIS SPECIFIC TOPIC, well sir, have I not ALSO made the comment since "day-one" and the first time THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE arose and one of the first times we ever "butted heads" that because of LACK of experience and practice the cagers AND the motorcyclists possess in your neck of the woods and everywhere else in this country other than in California, that THIS would probably be the very reason that this practice will never BE accepted in places where it's never been accepted BEFORE, and so would NOT the idea that BECAUSE of this lack of experience AND acceptance of this makes YOUR experience "as a tow truck driver in NE PA and having to clean up after riders who've crashed because of doing this" somewhat irrelevant in regard to how it CAN BE and most often IS practiced SAFELY out there in "La La Land"?
(...and now, if you find what I've written here as being "Dwight just being 'condescending' yet again", well then, so be it, sir...but all that will THEN tell me is that despite my long-winded explanation in hopes of clearing the air here, the issue of LANE-SPLITTING in CALIFORNIA won't be the ONLY issue you unfortunately still "won't get"!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
