Quote: I have an 888 on the rear of the speedmaster. NEVER again! That things is diabolical in the wet...will try a commander 2

Prudence just had her snail snot (888) changed out yesterday at 11,609 miles with a commander II. Good bye Metzeler.
AND not only in the wet, that 888 would step out on ya in the dry too and under braking. Sorry about this reply to an old thread, but I've been looking at Michelin Commanders ever since Metzeler invested in worm farms and I fell for one. Funny thing is, it is raining real good today and I haven't even scrubbed the Commander in yet. But I'll be the grasshopper on rice paper as the sound of a new chain kit purrs beneath me.
fwiw, the trashed chain kit had over 27,000 miles in it. The cover and the front sprocket had little to no gunk. I abandoned the "lube every 500 miles" routine and was rewarded with 7000 miles and an easy clean up.
